Our little Idea Factory...

After my visit atThe Idea Factory in Singapore, I was really impressed with my visit and the energy felt when we were walking around. I had made a reflexion in the past to see if we could rearranged our work space. When I came back, I presented my ideas to Murielle our secretary and Claudine our vice-principal. I was happy when they decided to jump with me in this new experiment and try to reorganize our work space. After a couples of week, the hard work has paid off. Our custodian helped us and I would like to thanks the teachers who were able to rearranged their work habits by having their copy centre moved to what was the vice-principal office.

The best advantages so far are to be able to work close to each other, to be able to help, to contribute and to support each other. We now have a great room to meet with teachers, parents and students. As soon anyone walks in the new conference room, the effect is immediate. Most peoples are intrigued by the furniture and the was it has been arranged, One of the thing that I remembered from my visit was a comment from Tony Lai of The Idea Factory ; "You have to make the conversation happens"... I guess we are on the right tracks...

Tony also suggested some ideas from a company calledBosch & Fjord. This company has published many articles on office design. Their book ; "Bosch & Fjord Book" is a reference in this area.

Here is a slide show of our
office before the changes:

And here are our new working spaces
